Burial, Ashes & Memorial Options

We offer traditional in-ground burials, larger family plots, in-ground ash plots, and columbarium wall (memorial wall) niches for ashes. Our team is happy to explain all of our options and help you choose what is best for you or your family.

Yes, unlike many places, at Lakeside Memorial Park, you can purchase burial plots, ash plots, and columbarium (memorial wall) niches ahead of time. Early purchasers benefit from a wider range of choices, ensuring you can select the location that best suits your wishes. Of course, pre-purchasing often provides a sense of comfort whilst also protecting against future price increases.

This is a common question and many individuals and families have not yet decided on what they will do in the future. In these instances, clients often opt to purchase a traditional burial plot because ashes are allowed to be interred in a traditional plot.

No, the scattering of ashes is not permitted at Lakeside Memorial Park. There are many meaningful places where ashes can be scattered, such as a local beauty spot or a place that held significance for you and your loved one. It is important that the chosen place has a special meaning and is a place where you and family members can visit and connect with your loved one.

Visiting, Accessibility & Facilities

Our reception building includes a restaurant/café and a florist, so you can enjoy refreshments and arrange flowers during your visit. For families or individuals considering a plot at Lakeside Memorial Park, we also have offices for private consultations.

Whilst we do not have a specific facility such as a chapel, it is likely that the on-site restaurant will be able to accommodate small gatherings. More details will be available around this service when the park opens.

Absolutely. Our paths and facilities are designed to be wheelchair-friendly and accessible to all visitors. If you or a guest requires special assistance, please let us know and we will be happy to help.

Yes, pets are welcome. In fact, we have designed the park (insofar as possible) as a public park and thus, we encourage dog-walkers to use Lakeside Memorial Park. Naturally, dogs will need to be kept on a lead.

No, there is no crematorium facility at Lakeside Memorial Park. Families or individuals who are choosing cremation will likely avail of the cremation facilities at Dardistown or Glasnevin cemeteries.

Memorials, Rules & Maintenance

Yes, all memorial plaques (headstones) at Lakeside Memorial Park are laid flat and are uniform in appearance. We believe that this uniformity will provide a greater sense of space and harmony in the park. Our team will walk you through the details and help with any questions.

At Lakeside Memorial Park, unlike many cemeteries, there are no ongoing maintenance fees. This is thanks to our perpetuity fund, which will ensure that the park is maintained to the highest standards forever, at no cost to our clients or their families.

Of course, the placing of flowers on graves is permitted and we understand that it is often important for family members to mark significant days such as birthdays and anniversaries. However, other memorial ornaments are not permitted. Once flowers are withered or faded, our staff will make arrangements for their removal.

Pricing, Payments & Pre-Planning

Plots and niches range in price, depending on size and location. However, current prices for traditional burial plots are €7,500-€8,500 and family plots start at €15,000. In-ground ash plots start at €5,000 and our niches (in our memorial or columbarium walls) range in price from €3,500 - €8,000. We recommend arranging a consultation to discuss your individual needs.

As with all cemeteries, there are fees associated with the interment of our loved ones. The interment fees for a traditional casket funeral is €1,000. This will be “1st in class” whereby a canopy will be erected on inclement days, seating will be available for the immediate family, a lectern and PA system will be available for the celebrant, whilst umbrellas will be available for guests. All of our attendants will be in uniform and will be on hand to assist the family in any way we can. All of these small details are with a view to making what is a difficult day, just a tiny bit less stressful for the family.

The fee for an in-ground ash interment is €500, whilst the fee for interring a loved one’s ashes in our memorial (columbarium) walls is €250. Unlike a traditional casket funeral, an ash interment often takes place many weeks, months, or years after our loved ones have passed away. These services are often private affairs, with only family and close friends in attendance and thus our full funeral service is not required.

We do not generally provide finance arrangements, and many families will use banks, credit unions, or funeral finance plans. That said, we are happy to discuss individual requirements.

Finding a Grave & Support

Our staff will be happy to help you find a grave or memorial and in time, you will also be able to use our “plot locator” app on your phone.
